Wednesday 20th August will see the West Wilts Street Cup Summer Tournament kick off with 20 youth teams from across West Wiltshire ranging from U12’s - U18’s.
The 5 a side tournament at John of Gaunt School, Trowbridge, consists of U12’s, U14’s, U16’s and U18’s team catagories. There will also be a trophy for the player who can showcase the best skills in the street skills area.
The West Wilts Street Cup is run in partnership by Wiltshire Police, Wiltshire County Council, West Wiltshire District Council and Trowbridge Town Council.
The first tournament was held in the easter school holidays and was very successful, with players representing their local neighbourhood policing teams and building a relationship with their local police officers.
The summer tournament is now closed for new teams but you are more than welcome to come along on the day and show your support.
If you are interested in taking part in the next Street Cup Tournament then simply send an email to info@activetrowbridge.co.uk.
THE annual beach party in Trowbridge kicks off tomorrow with 40 tonnes of sand being delivered especially for the event.

There is also a wide range of stalls promoting everything from local clubs to businesses.
The event promises to be the best beach party yet with lots of activities, workshops and a host of entertainment.
There will be a visit from the Sports Roadshow, running family sports and activities, racing cars, circus skills workshop, children’s fair rides, inflatable slides, a coconut shy and urban dance displays.
There will also be an open bar and food stalls.
The following day on Sunday August 10, from 11am to 4pm the same sand will be used to create a beach volleyball court for anyone to turn up and try their hand at.
